Teen Choice Awards 2010: Best & Worst Dressed

I love doing this.

Honorable Mention:

Naya Rivera
I like the cut, but the material isn't my favorite.

Kristen Bell
This could be cute without the weird sheer tank top thing on it.

Worst Dressed:

Emma Roberts
Is the vampire look the new thing?
Katerina Graham
Why?
Kim Kardashian
Some things do not flatter curvy women. Extreme gathers on the top and hips is one of those things.

Best Dressed:
Nobody won.
I didn't see one outfit that stood out to me more than the others.
Oh well.
There will be other award shows.

Prom

I don't have the fondest memories of prom. I mean, I was homeschooled. So maybe I'm bitter towards the whole thing. But I went with a friend. Maybe 2 years in a row? I don't remember.

The point is, I don't love the idea of prom. And I hate those dresses. I bring this up because the above picture was on my Facebook home page today. Hopefully 7 of the girls in the picture will have no idea that I think their dresses are hideous. Ok, maybe 7 is a little harsh. I know the girl in the middle in green. I think her dress is lovely. I also think the girl on the end in the aqua color is decently clothed.

But the orange? Really? And the weird color 4th from the right? Prom dresses are already silly and not so classy. What were their parents thinking, letting them walk out looking like 35 year old playboy bunnies? Ok, done ranting.

Keep it classy. Aka don't let your daughters out of the house dressed like that.

I'm Not That Girl

You know, the one who is always perfectly accessorized. I am not a girl who wears a lot of jewelry. I have my CTR ring, my sailboat toe ring (thanks, Talana!), and sometimes a little pair of gold earrings. Anything other than that rarely happens.

BUT...

If I were to wear any other jewelry, these would be on my list.

Some stuff from Anthropologie

And this ring, only with my own constellation (which is Cancer, in case you were wondering) instead of Gemini. (source)Oh and here's a picture of my CTR ring, in case you were wondering. It's absolutely lovely and I adore it. (source)

Stripes+Tutus=Lurve

I am desperately in need of one of these. Just the other day I was wracking my brain, trying to figure out a way I could pull off wearing a tutu in public without looking 3 years old. Oh Ouma, you make life worth living.

Lost: The Perfect Shade

Have you seen me?

height: 3 inches
weight: not a lot
color: ruby woo by MAC
last seen: Thursday morning

Guys, I am dying without my violent shade of perfectly red lipstick. Does this mean I have to go buy more? Yes. I'm a sucker. But I hesitate because I know I will find it ten minutes after I go buy more.

I Might Go Join A Nudist Colony

I'm having a dead closet week. I don't know what to wear. And I have tons of clothes. I think it has something to do with Winter. Fall and Spring are my favorite, because they are temperate enough for me to wear anything at all. But January has left my wardrobe cold and lifeless. I would go lay on the grass in my prom dress, because it looks like that would help, but there's that darn snow all over the ground. Does someone want to come dress me? Someone with the style of Zooey, so I can stop wasting 30 minutes staring at my clothes before falling into the old regulars? Help me, please.

And while we're talking about clothes, check out this amazing lady! I might copy her in the next few months. How awesome is that?

Z: Zooey. Duh.

Let's wrap this up! Good-bye A-Z Series! You were fun, but I am done with you. I don't like things cramping my style and having to do the alphabet in order was too compartmentalized for me. But it was good for me. And it's going out with a bang! Good ol' Zooey. I think she is the most featured person on here. I can't help it!

F: Fashion Icon

Remember how I love Zooey Deschanel? And how my life's goal is to copy the way she dresses? As of today, I am doing quite well. I haven't worn anything but a skirt since school began. And it is good. I can't even begin to tell you what a difference it makes in how I feel and act. I feel like a lady and I act accordingly. Stockings and heels keep me awake in class, red lipstick makes me feel dressed up, headbands and hair ribbons make me feel girlie, and skirts are so ultra feminine. And can I just tell you that people notice? I have had 3 boys in the past 24 hours tell me that I looked nice and ask me if I have somewhere to go. Also, a friend told me that he didn't know anyone who dressed like me. He obviously hasn't met Zooey. But he was right. I looked around on campus today and jeans are way too prevalent in our society. Time to be girlie, ladies. Time to be girlie.

E: Eva Green

I first discovered Eva Green when I watched Casino Royale (we all know what a huge Bond fan I am). And she just seemed so chic to me. So lady like, so different from other Hollywood leading ladies. She isn't a conventional beauty, but to me she is gorgeous. She's sultry and fashionable and she is always rockin the red lips. But what else could you possibly expect from a French woman?

Purple Meets Perfect

We MUST take a break from the A-Z series because Miss Peonies has introduced us to the Marchesa's Spring 2010 Collection. And I can't stand it. How do I get a hold of these? Holy Hannah they're incredible.

Irresponsible Yearnings

Remember this swimsuit? The one that I don't really need, because I have six others, but I am desperately in love with nonetheless? Well, it's on sale. For $150. Which sounds like a lot until you remember that it was originally $248. What does this even mean? Please remind me that I am a poor college student and that $150 will feed me for more than a month. Or buy all my textbooks this semester. Or pay for 1/2 of my month's rent. Ugh.

On A Side Note...

I was just looking at some amazing boots that are coming out this fall and I possibly grunted in satisfaction. Like a Caveman. Or my brothers. Ugh, I think I've been home too long. Maybe.
See? You can't help making a noise of satisfaction, can you? I just hope that yours was more ladylike.

Michelle Williams

As I flipped through Heath Ledger pictures for that last post, I realized that his ex-fiancee had a brilliant wardrobe for award shows. When I am famous one day (meaning never) I will most definitely be following her example.
Although the yellow dress is awful with her skin, it is still beautiful and the red lips are rockin.

Red Carpet

Okay, so I am finally getting around to looking at the red carpet from the Oscars and the ACM's. Here are my thoughts.

The Oscars

Best:

Miley Cyrus

I think that hers was the only dress I actually liked. I mean, I would wear this one. The rest were just blah.

via Disney Dreaming

Worst:

Amy Adams

I hate that necklace. And for such a beautiful girl, she doesn't look amazing. I think it's the color.

The ACM Awards

Best:

For starters, there's Nicole and Keith. Can you get any better than these two?

Dierks Bentley was a hottie. I love him.
And I thought Martina looked stunning. That is something I would wear for reals.

Worst:

I can't help it. I just look at Kelly and hate it. I know that H-face likes it, but I can't. I just can't.

Kelly, you're cutie patootie, but I wasn't feeling it. Sorry.

A Few Reasons Why I Love My Halloween Socks

1. They are striped, which reminds me of French things
2. They are never hard to find because of the red blinking lights (located in the witch)
3. They are always clean, even when they are dirty
4. They keep a good portion of my leg very warm
5. They remind me of my trip to Boise with Jessica

Heather finds them ubiquitous, always on my feet or on the floor, I find them simply wonderful.

(Me! Getting ready for a cold day at school. Don't worry, I wear pants and boots over them before going out in public. Mostly. There's that one time I went bowling...)

Old School Glamor

I love it. I love the red lipstick, the birdcage veils, the femininity, the hair. I could go on and on. It is excellent.

I love Katy Perry's Thinking of You. I am not a huge fan of hers, but I LOVE this music video. It embodies the glamor that I wish we could get back.
