Just a little update

Here I am.
Back in school.
Back in Provo.

There's a lot going on these days.

I moved into a new house.
I have 4 new roomies.
And 3 new windows that let in so much sunshine it makes me giggle with happiness.

I found a new major.
It's a permanent one, this time.
I mean it.
I was never absolutely sure about the rest.
But this one?
It's exactly what I need to be doing.
And I feel great about it.

I have a new calling at church that screams of too much responsibility.
But I have 3 amazing ladies to help me out with all the work.
I'm sorta excited about it.

And that's about it.

Post edit:
In response to the emails, the major is
Recreational Management and Youth Leadership with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation
and the calling is Relief Society president.

{For those of you who don't know, the Relief Society is the largest women's organization in the world. It is for LDS women, ages 18 and up, and it's focus is building faith, strengthening homes and families, and serving others.}

General Conference

Go watch it (here). It's awesome. I promise that you'll love it and come away happier and a better person.

General Conference is when the leaders of our church speak to us. I love it. There's beautiful music, incredible quotations, inspiring stories, and revelation from heaven. This is not to be missed. Here's some highlights from last years conference. Enjoy!

Sometimes You Need a Reminder

Today I am grateful for Stacey. This is exactly what I needed.

Scandocious

Prince Charming and Cinderella {aka Bishop and Wifey}

(Almost all these pictures are for a certain Talana because she doesn't have a Facebook. Enjoy, lovah.)

So remember this?

Well, Saturday night was the ball. And can I just tell you that it was awesome? I am so so in love with my ward. Here is some documentation and commentary.

All images are courtesy of the amazing Tiffany and our sweet bishop's wife.

The boys put on their top hats...
...and cowboy hats...

The girls put on their pretty dresses...
And then we danced!

{I don't know what Jacob's doing in this one...}

Parker and his ballroom dance partner gave us a lovely performance.

Which we all heartily approved of.

We went to take a portrait with Mike {3-4 ladies, the lucky man!} but it took forever to set up the lights.
Tiff got quite a few of us waiting there.

It was Kinsi's birthday. A ball in her honor? I think so.

I am constantly amazed by the awesomeness of my friends. You guys rock.

I think that this is an adorable one of Ash. Parker knows how lucky he is, I think.

After the dance, we were still so happy that we had to take more pictures.
{Notice my awesome blue coat?}
I'm pretty sure that Blake and Ashley make this my favorite picture of the night. Ees hot.
The tiara made it's way around

This is a series by Ashley. She likes to click the camera.

All in all, we agreed with Joey, that it was a success.

The Cinderfella Ball

One more video to illustrate the awesomeness of my ward. This Saturday night is gonna be rockin.

And books inspire me to dream.

The Rest of the Road Trip

Oh the road trip.

It had a few unexpected stops. Meaning the car broke down 10 miles out of Cheyenne on Saturday evening. But I can't even tell you how wonderful it all turned out. We called the local bishop to ask about a mechanic, and he invited us to stay with his family. They had the cutest children and twin 4 month old baby boys. Heaven!!! I am so impressed with the kindness and generosity of complete strangers. And, once again, I am so thankful for the church that I belong to.

We finally straggled into Provo late Monday night, where we were welcomed by the incredible Alligood family, once again. And it was good.

Notes

I got this note today in Relief Society from one Elphaba.

Dear Lemonhead,
Why does your head look so much like a lemon? I mean, honestly, the shape is uncanny!
Also, you make me make a sour face when I see you, like lemonheads do.
You also have the smell of lemons--do you think so as well? I think you know you do 'cause you try to cover it up with perfume.
Lemonhead or not, you're okay. I will chew you up anyway.
Love,
Queen Heather

We both we laughing so hard we were crying and she almost had to leave.
