Wedding Invites

Yes, I know it is too early to be thinking of such things. Yes, I know that I haven't been on a date in over a year. This means nothing to me. Blame Etsy if you are really desperate. They sent me the email, ya know.
My reasoning is, that when the right man finally comes along, I won't have to have a 10 year engagement to prepare for a wedding. I have everything. 6 weeks and I am done. Ok, it will probably be like 3 mos. but you get the idea. Anyhoo, I just noticed that those invitations are kind of girlie for a Brian and Mark. Are those common last names? Weird.

And while we're on the topic of marriage, I had a kind of interesting conversation yesterday...
Somehow I was talking about cute babies with some friends (surprise!) and I mentioned that I am in love love love with babies. They are just so cute! I said something about wanting to have a baby in the next 5 years. Is that ok? Apparently not. Someone thought there was something wrong with me for wanting to get started on a family soon. For the record, 25 is not old. Not at all. And yes, I do have life plans. I've never made a secret of the fact that basically, I'm on my way to Australia. I want to finish school. 2 years. I want to go to Australia. 1-2 years. I want to meet a man somewhere in there and get married and have a family. 1-2 years. This evens out to about 5 years. I am so grateful for the examples of Emily and Becca and Nienie and C. Jane and women like them who are unafraid to fall in love and have families and babies, some of who have done it all before the age of 25. Because I am not ashamed that I want a family. A big one. And that I want to fall in love with an incredible man and get married.

And there is nothing wrong with that.

Remember How I Like Things Like This?

Oh no, this bride looks like she's from the 1940's. I can't help it. I really really like it.

Beauty and True Love

"Katie Kirkpatrick, 21, held off cancer to celebrate the happiest day of her life. Breathing was difficult now; she had to use oxygen. The pain in her back was so intense it broke through the morphine. Her organs were shutting down but it would not stop her from marrying Nick Godwin, 23, who had been in love with Katie since 11th grade. Five days later, Katie died." -- Photographer Romain Blanquart.

Sorry, I Have Weddings On the Mind?

Maybe. But consider it found. My dress.

I don't really know who this person is. But I saw these pictures randomly on Facebook forever ago and have been looking ever since. Because I want this dress. For now anyways.

To Do or Not To Do

My childhood best friend just got her bridals done and they are wonderful. I hope she doesn't care that I am posting one or two. Or four. I can't help it! I must share the gloriousness!

I have mixed feelings about bridals. On the one hand, they are lovely, providing the couple with beautiful photos that cut the hassle and worry of Wedding Day Meets Photographer right in half.

The other side of me is old-fashioned and says that the groom is NOT allowed to see the bride in her dress before the moment she walks in the room to be married. Come one, people! It's tradition! And a beautiful one, like
"Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue."
We just can't be messing with it. Isn't the moment priceless when the bride walks in and the groom sees her in all her glory? Let's not mess with that moment.

Weddings

I have decided that when I get married I want Grace Kelly's wedding dress. It's beautiful, timeless, and very me. Yes?
Maybe not the top part of the veil...

So I am not getting married anytime soon. I haven't even been on a date in forever. But, I want these invitations for my bridal shower when I do. Add Image (via weddingpaperdivas)

Weddings, Weddings Everywhere!

Dawna and I went with The Lovely Bride to try on her wedding dress for the final adjustments. I think she looks simply beautiful. I am in love with little wedding dress boutiques, and this one had the best dresses I have ever seen. You should have seen some of these ethereal creations. It was intense!
Check out her cute shoes!

I think that the veil completes it.

Love Love Love

Some things I love today:

1) Raspberries
Yummy Ummy! My favorite snack!

2) Books
Everybody knows that I have an unhealthy obsession with books. I cannot walk into a bookstore, because I will buy books instead of food, and that leaves me in a very nutritionally poor situation. These pretty books are via book/daddy

3) All natural mommies
I am a huge advocate for mothers who chose to go the natural route. I find home births, breastfeeding, and stay-home mommas fascinating. One day I will be as cool as my momma and all of her friends. nienie is pretty neat too.

4) Brides
How fun are weddings? I can't wait to be a bride. The romance, the flowers, everything about it is magical. Cute couple via Wedding On Frame

5) Ballerinas
These are the most elegant creatures. Everything about the art is fascinating to me. I wish that I could do it, but I don't think I have the time, patience, or dedication that it would take.

6) Peonies
