Today...

I am Negative Nancy. Skip the next few paragraphs if this bothers you.

Things that annoyed me today:

1. The rain that made my hair freakish.

2. 2%, 1%, and skim. Basically, I just like whole milk.

3. White bread.

4. Lack of sweet things to eat.

5. All of my clothes are dirty except for the cute-but-uncomfortable ones.

6. I realized that I am out of touch with one of my friends. A.k.a. it looks like he is dating someone and I am sad that he didn't tell me. (I hope that you know who you are/that you read this.)

7. I have nothing to read.

8. I only have 3 episodes left of season 4 of Sexfiles.

9. I am breaking out.

10. I started getting horrendous headaches.

11. I realized that I am going to really miss my family when I leave them soon.

SO...
Now that that is out of my system, lets flip the coin over and be happy.

1. The rain was amazing these past few days. Very magical.

2. I am going to see Sugarland, Lady A, and Miranda Lambert in just 3 weeks.

3. A cute boy flirted with me (he was a missionary, but he goes home to Provo in 1 week, so I let him slip under the radar.)

4. I found my Superman tattoos.

5. I got a cute new wallet so I can give Alexia's-that-I-stole back.

6. Elfie sent me not one, not two, but THREE great presents. What a wonderful non-friend. If I didn't know any better, I would think she loved me or something. (It being nigh unto impossible for her to remember birthdays and all...)

7. I got a wedding invitation for a cute friend.

8. I lusted after cute swimsuits on Anthropologie (oh, and was annoyed that they cost $250).

9. Found some red lipstick.

10. Momma made banana muffins.

11. I ran out of happy things. Sorry, the negative conquered me.

Dream, Interrupted

I woke up this morning at 7:50 am to get ready to go to the chiropractor. I was possibly in a bad mood. As I lay on the table, my back being kneaded and stretched by the lovely massage therapist (whom I love, mostly because she also loves The X-Files), instead of letting her loosen the knots of this bad mood, I rubbed it until it got good and nasty. Sorry, Mom. I'm not really a monster.

Then my back started hurting. Usually I feel better after the doctor. Today, I just felt sore. So I took a nap. I dreamed vivid and exciting dreams. There were balloons and I was floating above the town. Then Matthew popped those balloons. One by one. And I was left with a sleep hangover. I hope you know what I am talking about. Where you feel tired and sluggish, a little bit weird, like you are running in your dreams but making no progress. Only you're awake. Grrr...

I'm doing a little better. Tomorrow will be better. I promise. To help me along, I am going to make that list of wonderful things I have done. Here goes.

I have knitted a scarf

I have hiked the Y

I have been to Tennessee

I have been to some amazing concerts

I have survived almost two years of college

I have canoed down a river

I have painted a room

I have swam under a waterfall
I have worn a dress that Johnny Depp liked

I have touched an alligator
I have pulled an all-nighter

I have watched nine seasons of X-Files
I have read the Bible, The Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants

I have been to the Salt Lake Temple
I have made a dress

I have made sock puppets

And that should do it.

By Request

I was asked by a dear friend, unhappily stranded in Texas (don't ask. I didn't think it was possible either), to blog a bit so she could be entertained. So here goes.

Some things I have never done:

I have never picked an apple from a tree.

I have never been to Boston in the fall.

I have never ridden a horse.

I have never worn a bikini.

I have never left the country.

I have never baked a pie.

I have never said "I love you" to a boy.

I have never worn red lipstick.

(Taylor did it WELL!)

I have never read The Old Man and the Sea.

I have never seen Steel Magnolias.

I have never broken a bone.

I have never played football.

Look for the positives tomorrow.

And last, some news that will interest but few.

1. I turned off X-Files for what might be the first time. I didn't turn off the creepy Indian man. But I did turn off the cockroaches that were crawling under peoples' skin. We all have our limits. Cockroaches are mine. Nevertheless, Scully and Mulder are SO GOOD!!!

2. 17 year old is texting me, inviting me over to be friends. Unacceptable. I shut him down. Details upon inquiry.

3. Baby Reefy loves me. This is for reals. And I was loving having his mom to myself for a whole hour tonight! I have missed my talks with Miss Tiff.

Just a minute...in May

Watching... Season 3 of The X-Files. Scully and Mulder just keep getting better. I always thought that I wouldn't enjoy watching the beginning after I saw the ending, especially after Scully and Mulder get it on. But I love it still. Oh, and Batman is on tv right now, so that's going on too.

Reading... Just finished A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson. It wasn't that good, for the main character was so perfect that she got annoying. I started The Once & Future King again and am currently remembering how wonderful it is.

Listening... Ingrid, of course. Well, Joshua Radin, too. I love their duet, Sky. She & Him has been pretty high on my list too.

Making... Apple muffins. And a mess in the kitchen.

Wanting... An ihome. I am dying without my music every morning. Oh, and a car. It is Friday night and I am stranded at home because my family went camping.

Promising... To clean up the kitchen after I'm done cooking.

Summertime Blues

Because Provo is the place to be.

Things I Miss:

~Someone to watch X-Files with. When I'm alone, sometimes I get scared and have to sleep with the light on.

~The amazing Provo library

~Costco water bottles

~Being able to watch Thursday night tv. My family doesn't like my shows.

~REEEEEEEEYYYYYYNNNNAAA (insert creepy voice here)

~Having a long bathroom counter that I only share with the ihome and one other person. Teenage boys are no fun to share a bathroom with.

~My car

~Rock climbing

~Friends

~My clothes. They have yet to arrive on the FedEx truck.

~Frizz-free hair

Sudweeks, I love you.

6 Lovely Things

I have been tagged by the lovely Laura over at Gypsea Tree. So here are 6 things that make me happy.

1. Water bottles I know that this is not ideal for the enviroment, but I love the Costco water bottles. It's going to be a long summer without them.

2. X-Files Duh. Of course this would be on my list!

3. Music Music Music: Wicked, Sugarland, Ingrid Michaelson, Lady Antebellum. I can't live without the stuff.

4. Crisp Sheets There is nothing better then sliding into cool crisp sheets. Ooo lovely!

5. Raspberries Yummy! My most favorite of all fruits. I can eat them all day every day and not get tired of them. This is for reals.

6. The sound of rain on the roof I prefer sunshine, but when it rains at night, there isn't a lovelier sound. Well, the ocean might give it a run for it's money...

And now I am tagging these lovely people

Elfie
Kenzie
Amy
Becca
and Dandrin

Babies and Taco Bell

No...time...to...blog...

Ugh, children. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but I love being single more. I am so exhausted at the end of each day that I fall into bed at nine. But while my body is tired, my mind has no clue what an early bedtime is. So I lie there. And then the alarm rings at six ("alarm" is code name for "baby" and "ring" is code for "hollering"). Let it be known: I am suddenly happy to be single. Men, stay away! You only get girls pregnant and that is unacceptable. I am happy to be able to lay in bed till 9:00 am if I want. I am happy going to bed at 2:00 am, watching X-Files till late and making midnight Taco Bell runs (because that is what next semester is going to be full of. Woot!) I am happy spending an hour on my hair and makeup each morning. Yes, I know. It will be different when the children are mine. True, but these things won't be differnt: naptimes, bedtimes, mealtimes. These things don't change. Neither do dirty diapers and baths and boo boos and complaining about me not letting them watch TV. So, I am single, and proud. At nineteen, I should be.

Word of the Week

Exsanguinate:

To drain a body of blood. Vampires do this. And I am looking for an opportunity to use it this week. Wish me luck!

March Madness

Three things:

1) This month is March Mulder Madness. If you want to participate, the celebration starts with season 9 as soon as midterms are over. Effhead is making me be responsible with her. I am not sure how I feel about this.

2) It is also Get-a-Boyfriend Month. I know I have been saying this since January and you are starting to think that I am all talk. I am starting to think this too. But I am desperately lonely. There is this cute boy in my Humanities 250 class that always sits next to me and today he smelled so good that I almost did something desperate. Almost. Okay that's a lie, I only thought about doing something desperate.

3) It was like a slap in the face when I walked out of Spanish class to this:
It was awful.
March is is being decidedly unkind by toying with my feelings in such a way. And even after I wrote such a nice note to him...

Sunday, March 8

Bedtime

I am going night night. Okay that was a lie. I am actually going to turn out the light and watch Sexfiles. Hello Mulder...

P.S. Jonathan asked me if I needed anything tonight. Instead of saying some thing like "I need a boyfriend." Or, "Why yes, I am in need of a date this Friday." Or, "Why yes, I would love a private piano concert" (because he plays beautifully), I said something stupid that I don't even remember. I suck. That's all.

Weekend Stuff

It has been a wonderful weekend, full of happiness and light and goodness.

~Temple Square is amazing! Beautiful by day and magical by night. The tulips and daffodils are just beginning to show their lovely little faces and I was immediately besotted.

~Seeing Chrissy is always the highlight of my life. One day we will live in Florida together. Okay probably not, but I can always dream! What would I do without my bestie to do my hair and make me laugh?

~I officially love going places with Tiffany and I loved the story her grandma told us about flashing Howard W. Hunter. I haven't laughed that hard in awhile. I am still giggling thinking about it.

~I started season one of Sexfiles. Of course. It is so good! I can't believe how cute little Mulder and Scully are! Much love. But I will always be sad that Alex Krycek had to die. He was the sexiest thing that ever happened to that show. Besides Mulder in a tshirt.

March Third

Today was a normal day in the life of Reyna. Allow me to share.

1. After watching Sexfiles till 1:30 this morning, I might have been too scared to brush my teeth/wash my face/take out my contacts. It didn't help that Miss Effhead kept making squeaky noises to remind me of the Indian midget man without legs on his little scooter. I am still a little nervous about him. After all, people don't find their way into other people's bodies on accident. I am never going to India.

2. I will admit to waking up at 6:30 am and thinking that I was late for work. I will not admit to getting up and beginning to get ready until my head cleared.

3. It was nice enough outside that Macy, Garrett, Jody and I had a lovely picnic out in the backyard. I do so love spring.

4. I may or may not have eaten 3 of those peanut butter cookies. Okay, there were at least 5.

5. I did, however, eat one avacado and, realizing that one is never enough, went to the store for 2 more.

6. It is possible that I flashed BYU not once, not twice, but three times this afternoon.
Me + wind + airy spring dress = mortification/bare legs/laughing boys
I might have threatened to charge them after the second time. I might have let a teensy bad word slip on the third. But, as Jennifer says, at least my underwear is cute, right?

7. My Surfer magazines have miraculously appeared in my mailbox (I think the mailman was stealing them) and I was more than disappointed to read about Taj getting slammed for his performance this year.

8. And last but not least, last night (technically this morning) someone's face got way too close to mine. Let's never do that again. Okay, Crazy?

Tuesday, February 24

Negative Nancy

~Someone used A TON of my milk. Yes, I am lactose intolerant, but I was using this for cooking. And unless it was Heather, I wish they had asked.

~I have a headache

~I am all out of water bottles

~I still have two exams and two papers left this week

~I didn't do so well on my Classical Civilization exam. Quite possible because I didn't read The Odyssey this past week because I have already read it twice this semester.

~I haven't watched X-Files in a week and I am DYING to find out how in the world Scully is pregnant and how she is going to find Mulder.

Alright, so to balance all that out, I need to make a Happy List:

~I am eating a heaping bowl of apple cinnamon oatmeal that I just made from real apples and steel cut oats.

~I am alone in the apartment

~I got to sit next to Jonathan last night during the FHE movie (thanks Heather! I owe you!)

~I went up the mountain today. Beautiful. The lake was red from the setting sun and it was silent.

~Macy cracked me up today with her rendition of Luke Bryan's Country Man. And she took out all the garbage without me having to ask.

~I have a house to live in in the fall, and it is amazing! Details to come on that one...

I Want to Believe

Why do I love The X-Files so much? It's not about the aliens. It's not even about Scully/Mulder (even though they are AMAZING!) It's about believing. Is there anything more important than believing? Probably not. What we believe in defines who we are. It gives us drive. It dictates all our actions in every different situation. It makes me wonder, Is my life compatible with what I believe in? Am I willing to give up everything to pursue my beliefs? I hope so.

Tuesday, February 17

Last Night Was AWESOME!!!

Can anyone guess why? Three guesses each! The winner gets something special! Yes, Heather, I know this will be you.

Sunday, February 8

Sailing

Quick update on me:

~I want to go sailing. But I am in the wrong state.

~We just went to our friends' apartment for what they call "Brazilian hot dogs", but they were nasty and we threw them away.

~I got Casino Royale and The X-Files movie for $5 last night. Wal-Mart rocks my socks.

~I have a crush, but not enough guts to ask him out.

~Dennis comes home in 4 months!

Spiders and Plumbing Monsters

You know how I like The X-Files? Well, we were watching them Saturday night, and it was really late. Heather fell asleep, and when it was over and I went to bed, I tried to get her to come to. I don't like sleeping alone. But she wouldn't come because of the sea monster in the plumbing. At least, that's what she said. But that was like, 3 episodes back. And it's not like we have a bathtub in our room. So she stayed on the living room floor all night and I wound up sleeping with the light on and the door open. Not because I'm scared of the monsters in sexfiles (our name for X-Files, not porn or a human sexuality movie) but because I would rather sleep in a room with a million spiders than sleep in a dark room alone. Yes, a million.

P.S.

I love Mulder.
